View host or host group details

Storage hosts are systems that use storage system LUN resources. A logical unit number (LUN) is an identifier that is used for labeling and designating subsystems of physical or virtual storage.

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Hosts > Hosts.
  3. Select the host or host group.
  4. Click An icon showing the letter i to view the host or host group details.
    NOTE: 

    The properties and controls available in this panel depend on whether you are viewing details of an individual host or of a host group, and on the storage operating environment.

    The following properties display:

    Name—Host or host group name. To rename the host or host group, type a new name over the existing and click Apply. Host or host group names must be unique from other hosts or host groups on the storage system and cannot exceed 64 characters. Only alphanumeric characters, underscores ( _ ), and (-) are allowed. Host names are case-insensitive.

    Hosts—Number of hosts in the group. This field only displays for host groups.

    PowerPath Hosts—Number of PowerPath hosts.

    Host Groups—Number of host groups in which this host is a member. This field only displays for individual hosts.

    Masking Views—Number of masking views with which the host or host group is associated.

    Initiators—Number of initiators in the host or host group. For host groups, the value includes initiators in any child host groups.

    Consistent LUNs—Flag that indicates if the Consistent LUNs flag is set. When set, any masking operation involving this host or host group that would result in inconsistent LUN values is rejected. When not set, the storage system attempts to keep LUN values consistent, but deviates from consistency when LUN conflicts occur during masking operations. An icon showing a tick symbol indicates that the feature is set.

    Port Flag Overrides—Flag that indicates if any port flags are overridden for the host.An icon showing a tick symbol indicates that there are overridden port flags.

    Enabled Port Flags—List of any enabled port flags that have been overridden by the host or host group.

    Disabled Port Flags—List of any disabled port flags that have been overridden by the host or host group.

    Last Update—Timestamp of the most recent changes to the host or host group.

    Bandwidth Limit—The bandwidth limit setting for a fiber host that has at least one initiator.
